Selection Process & Exam Pattern

After applying for the BPSC MVI posts, candidates will have to go through different stages in the selection process. The first stage is written examination consisting of three separate papers. Each paper will be of 100 marks the time duration will be 2 hours. The three papers are as follows:
Paper I: General Studies
Paper II: Technical Subject (either Automobile or Mechanical Engineering) – This will be according to candidate’s specialization.
Paper III: Motor Vehicle Rules & Acts
The total marks for the written examination are 300. There is no negative marking so students are advised to attempt maximum questions without the fear of losing marks over incorrect answers.
The written examination is qualifying in nature which means that candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks to become eligible for the interview round. The category wise cut-off percentages are:

The interview is generally of 150 marks. The candidate’s personality, communication, technical knowledge, and general awareness is assessed in the interview.
