Third Amrit Bharat Train from Bihar
This will be the third Amrit Bharat Express for Bihar. After the trains from Darbhanga and Patna, now Muzaffarpur is getting the Amrit Bharat Express train. The trains received very strong responses due to their speed and affordability. Now with the new train, North Bihar will get an additional boost and connectivity to Kolkata (Howrah) which is one of the busiest passenger corridors.
Vivek Bhushan Sood, who is the DRM of Sonpur Rail Division inspected the station and platform conditions recently. He gave special attention to platform number 7 and 8 as they are likely to be used for this train’s operations.
Travel Time Reduced by 4 Hours
As I have already mentioned, that the travel time between Muzaffarpur and Howrah will be reduced to just 10 hours. Prior to this, regular trains took between 12 to 14 hours to complete the 649 km route. All thanks to the modern push-pull technology which allows locomotives on both ends of the train. It increases acceleration and reduces halt time.
Everyone including tourists, business travellers and regular commuters will benefit from this. Not only Muzaffarpur, but nearby districts like Sitamarhi, Samastipur, and Motihari will also benefit from the train.
Non-AC, Affordable Amrit Bharat Train
The Amrit Bharat is famously known as the “common man’s superfast train.” This is because all of the train in the series are non-AC which makes them affordable even for the common passengers. They have sleeper and general coaches which offer comfortable and affordable travel experience.
The train for Muzaffarpur will be similar to the other train in the series. Primarily, the middle-income and lower-income groups are the core passengers. Even at an affordable rate, the trains offer better interior design, higher speed and a smoother ride.
Expected Route and Timing
While there is no official announcement regarding the route of the Muzaffarpur-Howrah Amrit Bharat Express train, possible major halts include Samastipur, Barauni, Kiul, Jhajha, and Asansol. The final confirmation is pending from the Indian Railways.
While the final timetable is yet to be released, insiders suggest the Muzaffarpur–Howrah Amrit Bharat Express will start early in the morning from Muzaffarpur and reach Howrah by afternoon. The return leg is likely to depart in the evening, ensuring a same-day travel option for business commuters and students.
