Takht Sri Patna Sahib commonly known as the Patna Sahib Gurdwara will soon get a brand-new Tourist Information Centre. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. The new Tourist Information Centre will be made with an estimated cost of ₹7.42 Cr.

We have covered everything about the upcoming Tourist Information facility in the Patna Sahib Gurdwara.

MoU Signed By Patna Sahib Gurdwara Committee

The MoU was signed on 1 July 2025 between the Bihar government and Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee of Takht Shri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib. The signing ceremony was conducted in the presence of Bihar’s Tourism Minister Raju Kumar Singh and department secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh. The agreement ensures that the Gurdwara Committee takes the responsibility of maintaining and running the new tourist information centre located near the Kangan Ghat.

Construction Under PRASAD Scheme

The tourist facility will be developed under the Centre’s PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme. This scheme is for upgrading infrastructure around iconic religious destinations across India. And Takht Sri Patna Sahib is one of the five top sacred religious sites for Sikhs. That’s why the government is committed to improve the overall pilgrimage experience at the Gurdwara.

Modern Facilities in Tourist Info Centre

The Tourist Information Centre will be constructed as a G+2 building which will have multiple functional spaces. The ground floor will house sangat hall, reception area, kitchen, and toilets. The upper floors will have 14 rooms each, this makes a total of 28 rooms available for short-stay accommodation. All the facilities will be designed such that The Gurdwara can easily manage high footfall during Gurpurab and Baisakhi.

Conclusion

This MoU has taken the process even further and the next stages of construction will be taking place in full swing now. The tourist information centre that will be made with ₹7.42 crore will eventually make the pilgrimage experience convenient for the tourists.
