Location and Cost Details
The cost of the new Patna Sports Complex is expected to be around ₹26 crore. The funds were allocated by the Bihar government’s Building Construction Department recently. The sports complex will be situated right next to the Bapu Tower and will be built over 9.5 acres of land. The complex wil not only serve as a playground but it will be also suitable for training, hosting local events, and public use.
Mini Cricket Stadium and Indoor Training Zone
The main highlight of the Patna Sports Complex is the mini cricket stadium which includes 10 full-sized cricket pitches and 5 additional practice pitches. The mini stadium will be perfect for both competitive and local-level cricket. Additionally, the sports complex will also have an administrative block and an indoor cricket training center. The training centre will be active for full year.
The sports complex will be built under the EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) model which means that a selected agency will complete the construction of the whole complex.
Multi-Sport Facilities Beyond Cricket
While cricket will be in focus, other sports disciplines will also be worked upon. There will be separate courts for basketball, volleyball, and other games. Internal roads will be constructed inside the campus of the sports complex so that accessing the sports grounds and courts becomes convenient.
Apart from the stadium, grounds and courts, the Patna Sports Complex will also have a modern gym, cafeteria, parking zones, and designated green areas.
Will be Located Near Famous Bapu Tower
The Patna Sports Complex will be built next to the under-construction Bapu Tower. Government Approval & Timeline
The Building Construction Department Secretary Ravi Kumar informed that the agency has already been selected for the construction of the Patna Sports Complex. The agency will begin its work soon. The authorities want to launch the facilities at the earliest so that the growing demand for sports infrastructure is fulfilled timely.
He also said that the sports complex will be constructed in accordance with the lastest standards for sports infrastructure. It will support local talent and inspire young players to pursue sports as a career.
