The Bihar government has rolled out a significant welfare move under its Samarth scheme to empower Bihar BPSC disabled candidates appearing for competitive civil service exams. We have covered everything about the reward for Bihar BPSC Disabled Candidates under the SAMBAL scheme in this article. You can use the following Table of Contents to navigate as per your preference:

What is Scheme for Bihar BPSC Disabled Candidates?

The scheme is officially called the ‘Mukhyamantri Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Yojana’ and it comes under the broader welfare umbrella of the ‘Sambal’ initiative. First, the scheme was only for female disabled candidates but with the latest cabinet discussion, it has been expanded to include all Bihar BPSC disabled candidates irrespective of their gender.

Actually the reward is for all girls irrespective of whether they have a Pwd certificate or not. Also, any category be it SC/ST/EBC/ OBC or general every girl is eligible to get the ₹1.5 lakh cash reward is she clears the BPSC/UPSC examination.

How Much is the Financial Assistance?

The reward is bifurcated into a two-stage incentive:

  • ₹50,000 for clearing the preliminary examination of BPSC or UPSC
  • Additional ₹1 lakh for candidates who qualify the interview level

This makes it a total of ₹1.5 lakh per candidate. This year, thousands of girls were already awarded the cash prize upon getting selected. What’s attractive about the offer is that even if you are unable to qualify the other levels till the interview – you will still get ₹50,000. This will further urge them to clear the examination as they will get somewhat financial support.

So, if you are eligible or you know someone who’s eligible for the scheme for Bihar BPSC disabled candidates, you must share it with him/her.

Other Key Approvals by the Bihar Cabinet

The Bihar cabinet has approved a total of 43 proposals. One of the 43 proposals is that ₹100 crore were sanctioned for diesel subsidy for farmers who are facing drought-like conditions during the Kharif season. Along with that the following decisions were approved :

In a recent high-level cabinet meeting, the Bihar government also approved the formation of a Youth Commission who will represent the local youth. Its main aim is to empower the youth by training them with professional skills and providing them with job opportunities. Along with that, the commission will give suggestions to the Bihar government. This was very crucial for a state like Bihar which has the youngest population in India.

Conclusion

The expansion of the SAMBAL scheme is a game-changer move, especially for male Bihar BPSC disabled candidates. By expanding the scheme to male candidates, the Bihar government is not only focusing on giving financial rewards for clearing stages of UPSC and BPSC but also instilling ambition into them.
