Bihar Cabinet Approved 24 Major Decisions for Growth & Good Governance

Artists Will Get Monthly Pension
The Bihar cabinet launched the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Pension Yojana to support artists. Under this scheme, recognised artists from all over Bihar will get a monthly pension of ₹3,000. This is offered to ensure the financial stability of artists who are generally underpaid. This will also help in boosting the artistic talent in people if the government is honouring their skills.
But the main point is that the scheme will be available to only those artists who will fit in the eligibility criteria. It will target veteran artists to support their art and honour their talent.
Youth Internship Scheme Got Expanded
The Bihar Cabinet also approved a major expansion of the Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana which is aimed at empowering youth. The scheme unders skull building and employment opportunities for Bihari youth. Now, as per the approved proposal, eligible candidates will get intership worth ₹4,000 and ₹6,000 per month.
Dr. S. Siddharth, who is the Additional Chief Secretary of the Bihar cabinet stated that scheme will benefit around 5,000 students in 2025-26. Additionally, he said that they aim to increase the scope is the scheme to cover 1 lakh candidates in the next five years.
Major Agricultural Investments
The Bihar cabinet also sanctioned over ₹80 crore for Krishounnati Yojana under the Fourth Agriculture Roadmap. The scheme covers agricultural extension services which will be managed by BAMETI and district-level agriculture agencies.
Soil Testing Infrastructure to be Set Up across Bihar
In an important decision, the Bihar cabinet approved ₹30.49 crore for establishing soil testing laboratories at block level. They will be constructed in FY 2025-26. The labs will offer scientific soil health test to the farmers. Next, they will also help them in choosing the right crops and fertilizers for maximum profit.
Connectivity Projects and Industrial Reforms
The Bihar Cabinet also approved ₹37 crore under the “Sulabh Samparkta” for construction of new bridges. This scheme will be implemented in the East Champaran (Motihari) district primarily. They are aimed at enhancing the connectivity of rural areas and reducing travel time.
In addition to this, the cabinet made changes in building bylaws. Now, Pollution-free industries will be allowed a Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of 2.0. Earlier, only 1.5 FAR was allowed. With the new decision, the industries can use maximum land and increase their productivity. This will also encourage new investments across Bihar.
Retired Judges to Get Post-retirement Benefits
Another decision was approved in relation to retired judges. Now, retired High Court judges will enjoy benefits like domestic help, telephone allowances, support of two government staff members, a driver and house assistant.
Healthcare Support For PRI Representatives
The Bihar cabinet also approved a decision which expanded the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund to cover elected representatives from Panchayati Raj Institutions and gram kachaharis. Now, they are eligible for getting medical treatment without any financial burden.
