Bihar’s infrastructure is set to get a major boost with the construction of 12 new bridges on its four major rivers – Ganga, Son, Gandak, and Kosi. This is exciting Bihar news for residents and travelers alike.

This initiative is part of the Developed India 2047 mission, which aims to enhance connectivity across India.

Latest Bihar News on Infrastructure Development

With these developments, staying updated with Bihar news will be crucial for understanding how these changes will impact local communities.

The Bihar government is planning to make it possible to travel from any part of Bihar to Patna in just three hours by 2035, a key point in current Bihar news.

Currently, 24 large bridges exist on these rivers, and 15 more bridges are under construction. So, with these 12 new bridges, the total number of major bridges in Bihar will reach 51.

Bihar govt’s Target to Reduce Travel Time

The Bihar government has been working in phases to ensure faster travel across the state. Their long-term infrastructure plan includes:

Phase 1: Travel to Patna from any part of Bihar in six hours (already achieved).

Phase 2: Reduce the time to five hours, which will be completed in the next few months.

Phase 3: By 2027, travel time will be reduced to four hours.

Final Target: By 2035, one can reach Patna from anywhere in Bihar in just three hours.

To achieve this, the government has prepared a roadmap under Developed India 2047, which includes:
1. Upgrading 5000 km of single-lane roads to two-lane or multi-lane highways.
2. Ensuring a four-lane road is available every 20 km.

Since Bihar has many rivers, achieving this goal is not possible without building new bridges. That’s why the Road Construction Department has decided to construct 12 more bridges to improve connectivity.
