What is the Bihar Rural League 2025?
The Bihar Rural League 2025 is a stage for local Bihari youth aged between 13-23 years to showcase their skills in Cricket. It is especially for those who have never been selected in any district or state level cricket tournaments.
BCA President Rakesh Tiwari described the Bihar Rural League as a talent hunt for the those individuals who are still hidden from the mainstream cricketing spotlight. The clear goal is to find and develop raw talent from Bihar’s local villages and blocks by giving them a serious stage to compete.
The selected players will not only get a platform to showcase their talent but they will also benefit from training, mentoring, and exposure to proper cricket infrastructure. This Bihar Rural League can serve as a feeder system for higher levels of cricket events.
Age Limit / Eligibility Criteria
For eligible to participate, players must be permanent residents of Bihar between the ages of 13 and 23 years. Any player who has previously participated in any official cricket tournament under the BCA will not be eligible to participate. The upper age limit is set at 23 years because the League focuses on finding young talented individuals from the unrepresented, grassroot level regions of Bihar.
Bihar Rural League Registration Online
The complete registration process for the Bihar Rural League 2025 is being conducted online. Interested players can easily registered through the official website of Bihar Cricket Association i.e. www.biharcricketassociation.com.
After visiting the website, search for the registration form in the BRL 2025 section. Complete the form correctly to register for it.
The registration portal went live on 10th June 2025 and it will be operational till 20th June 2025. Make sure you fill the form at the earliest instead of waiting till the last day to avoid any server issues/complications. Bihar Rural League Format
As per the official plan announced by BCA, each of the 38 districts in Bihar will host 16 teams. 15 matches will be played per district. This will include league games, quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final. A total of 608 teams will take part across all 38 districts of Bihar. The scale of the tournament reflects the ambition behind it.
The total number of matches will be 649, which will be conducted in the following structure :
District-Level Phase: 16 teams per district × 38 districts which is equal to 570 matches.
Super League Phase : the 38 district-level winning teams will move to the next round.
The 38 winner teams will be divided into 8 groups — five groups will have 5 teams each, and three groups will have 4 teams each. Matches will be played in a round-robin format within the groups.
After all the group matches, the qualifying teams will compete in quarterfinals, then semifinals, and finally, a grand final match. So in this way, a total of 79 matches will be played in this phase.
The total number of matches for both the faces will be 570+79 = 649 matches. The competition will be quite tough!
Over 10,000 players are expected to participate in the Bihar Rural League 2025. Matches will be played at various district-level grounds across Bihar.
Famous Cricketers May Join Final Matches
The Bihar Cricket Association is planning to bring National level cricketers and celebrities as brand ambassador in the final matches to increase the buzz around the Bihar Rural League. This will increase participation by adding prestige and excitement.
The BCA is committed towards increasing the craze for participation among the rural/local residents of Bihar. They want to give equal opportunities to everyone instead of just concentrating talent pools in major cities of Bihar like Patna or Gaya.
Apart from this, the BCA is also going to conduct an IPL like Cricket tournament in Bihar – Bihar Premier League (BPL) in 2025 with 16 teams in the T-20 format. The BRL might help in selecting the players for the BPL as well.
