PM Modi to Flag Off Train on 18 July

The Patna-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will be virtually launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on through video conferencing. Two days after the flag-off, the train will be ready for normal operation from 20 July. The train will significantly reduce the travel time between Patna and Delhi and the other key stations which come within the expected route. There will be sleeper and general coaches unlike the AC coaches of Vande Bharat Train. But the facilities will be at par with the Vande Bharat series.

Top Speed, Journey Time

The Patna-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will operate at a top speed of 130km/hr. The total travel time will be reduced by 10 hours. The distance between Patna & Delhi is approximately 1000 kilometres, so the travel time will be cut down. The journey will become very smooth for the passengers who currently suffer from longer travel times.

Sleeper Fare Around ₹1065

As we have already said that the Patna-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will not have AC coaches so the ticket fare is even more affordable. Yet, the sleeper ticket cost will be higher than standard express trains given the facilities available in the Amrit Bharat Express. The expected cost is ₹1065 which is just 15–17% higher than usual ticket fares.

Patna-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express Route

The Patna-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express is scheduled to stop at onle 12 important locations / stations. They following list denotes the expected route :

  • Buxar
  • Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (DDU)
  • Mirzapur
  • Prayagraj Junction
  • Kanpur Central
  • Etawah
  • and other key stops which come in the route

Danapur Division Will Handle Operations

The Patna-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will be operate under the jurisdiction of Danapur Rail Division. According to the official information, 22-coach rake will arrive at Danapur yard by 16 July. The train will undergo final checking and trial run at the Danapur division itself. After thorough checks and trails, the train will be ready for inauguration on 18 July. After that, two days later, the train will begin regular operations and will be open for general passengers from 20 July.
